New Homeowners can Pick up Free Recycling Containers
New homeowners are entitled to obtain one free Blue Box, Grey Box, Kitchen Catcher and Green Bin if they do not have them already.
To pick up free containers:
- Visit any location above within three months of taking possession of your house.
- Bring an unaltered copy of your deed to verify the date of your move.
Free containers are not available to tenants/renters.
Damaged Boxes and Bins
Bring the broken container (grey, blue, green, kitchen catcher) to a distribution centre listed above and we will replace it free-of-charge.
To dispose of the damaged bins/box, place the broken container sticker you receive from the distribution centre on your container and place it at the curb on your regular collection day or, if you do not have a broken container sticker, call Emterra Environmental at 905-227-7771 or toll free at 1-855-227-7771 at least two days before your collection day, and place at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the morning of your collection day.
