Rehabilitation
Ambulation programs, active exercises, stretching, bed exercise and one-to-one treatments by rehabilitation staff increase and maintain your independence and mobility. Respite Care
Overnight and short-stay respite for individuals without Alzheimer's disease or dementia is provided at some of our long-term care homes, as available, with full access to regular in-home activities.
As a caregiver, respite provides you with a much needed break and peace of mind knowing that your loved one is well cared for in your absence.
- respite care supports individuals still living at home
- individuals must be medically and behaviourally stable
- enhances individual's functional abilities and quality of life
- medical care will continue to be the responsibility of the individual's attending physician, although the homes' medical director may become involved, as needed
- upon completion of the respite stay, staff will assess the individual's need for transition back to community living and recommend supports, as needed
Residents' Councils
Each of our homes has a Residents' Council. Any resident may take part in discussions of ideas and/or concerns regarding all aspects of care and activities which have an influence on the quality of life in the home.
Family Advisory Council
Each home has a Family Advisory Council, through which your family members have the opportunity to discuss matters of a broad nature that relate to the home and the quality of life of all the individuals living within the home.
