South Niagara Health and Wellness Centre

Due to COVID-19, the South Niagara Health and Wellness Centre has suspended all in-person services. Virtual classes are available.

The South Niagara Health and Wellness Centre is a free program that offers exercise, wellness programs and community resource connections to help older adults remain safe and independent in their own home.

Free rehabilitation with Hotel Dieu Shaver Rehab is available for those who are eligible.

About our services

Sessions are focused on helping seniors achieve optimal mobility, function and independence. The team works with participants to set goals and objectives tailored to individual needs.

The program provides opportunities for seniors to:

  • Build strength, balance and confidence through exercise
  • Socialize with others who are motivated to staying healthy, safe and strong
  • Learn about health and wellness
  • Learn about resources available to support independence and health
  • Interact with students through classroom and clinic experiences

This is a time-limited program that combines exercise, wellness education and group participation.

To join this program, you:

  • Are an older adult (60 years of age or over)
  • Live in Ontario
  • Possess a valid Ontario Health Card
  • Can follow instructions and self-determine necessary modifications suitable to your personal health limitations
  • Are able to engage in conversation and are independent in decision making
  • May be at risk for falls or have experienced a fall(s)
  • Have Internet and a computer / tablet
  • Must live in the community, not in long-term care

If you don't have Internet access, contact us to discuss phone-based wellness sessions.
