  • Set limits on the time your kids spend in front of the television or computer
  • Provide fun alternatives to indoor activities such as setting up the sprinkler in the backyard, tossing a Frisbee around or playing some soccer
  • Make a calendar of events that your children can attend. Schedule outings such as trips to the local pool, bike rides, nature hikes, or a scavenger hunt
  • Invite neighborhood children and families to your home for a game of volleyball, tag or hide and seek
  • Get outside and be active with your children. The best encouragement you can give your kids to be active is by setting a good example
