Planning Ahead for Pregnancy and Parenting Lesson Plans

Niagara Region Public Health is pleased to provide the lesson plans to assist teachers with the delivery of the Ontario Curriculum. Although this resource was initially created to assist with the Parenting Course; select unit plans have content useful for other courses (Healthy Active Living, Health for Life, Science).

People who plan for pregnancy often have better reproductive health outcomes for themselves and their baby.

This resource was created to assist high school teachers to provide the most current evidenced-based information regarding reproductive health in a fun and creative way.

By teaching students about their future potential for having children, hopefully they will make healthy choices that will positively affect their childbearing and raising our next generation.

Some students may have already had to deal with pregnancy-related issues. This resource describes ways to help tip the scales to have the healthiest baby possible.
