Cervical Cancer

Cervical Cancer is a risk for all women that are sexually active. Having a regular Pap test can help to prevent almost 90% of cervical cancers cases. Don't delay, book your pap test today!

  • Every week, about 11 Ontario women will get cancer of the cervix and 3 women will die from it.
  • The risk of cancer of the cervix increases with age, so it is important that women of all ages who have ever had sex (intercourse) have regular cervical cancer screening.
  • Cervical Cancer is one of the more preventable cancers.
  • Having a regular Pap test can prevent almost 90% of cervical cancer cases.

  • Being sexually active.
  • Having multiple sexual partners.
  • Sexual activity before the age of 18.
  • Infection with Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
