It's Time to Immunize: A Parent's Guide to Immunization

The Government of Canada recently (June, 2009) launched a three-year public education campaign to encourage parents to have their children immunized again certain disease before the age of two.

The centerpiece of the campaign is A Parent's Guide to Immunization, a booklet that offers clear and easy to understand information for parents of children up to two years of age. It addresses:

  • vaccine safety
  • the importance of on-time immunizations and provides parents with information on what to expect when their child gets immunized
  • information on 13 vaccine-preventable diseases, including measles, mumps, pertussis (whooping cough), influenza, diphtheria and tetanus
