Recreational and Cultural Programs

Healthy child development requires more than just basic food and shelter. Children require continuous involvement in physical activity and recreation programs throughout their childhood and teenage years for healthy development.

Subsidized recreational/cultural programs help to reduce the economic hardships felt by families in providing these opportunities for their children.

Niagara's ProKids program supports the participation of eligible children and youth in the recreational or cultural activity of their choice.

Eligibility

ProKids can assist in covering the cost of recreational/cultural programs for your children if

  • you are a parent in receipt of social assistance,
  • eligible for subsidized child care, or
  • a tenant of Niagara Regional Housing with children newborn to 18 years of age

Eligibility may be affected by access to other sources of revenue.
