Regional Development Services staff review, analyse and provide comments on the following development applications:
This Division is also responsible for processing and providing recommendations to Regional Council on development-related Regional Policy Plan Amendments and non-exempt local Official Plan Amendments.
The Development Services Division has expertise in the following areas:
Development Planning
Provides development review comments based on the policies Regional Policy Plan and related guidelines and through our role as the screening authority for Provincial interests for the Ministries of Natural Resources, Environment, Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Culture and Municipal Affairs and Housing)
Development Engineering
Provides development review services with focus on the protection and effective operation of Regional infrastructure in consultation with the relevant Regional Public Works divisions (Transportation, Waste Management and Water and Wastewater) including the review of servicing connections and the review of private sewage disposal systems under Part VIII of the Ontario Building Code.
