Regional Councillor Robert Gabriel began his political career in 1994 as a Councillor for the City of Thorold and served for six years.
This is Councillor Gabriel's third term on Council. He currently serves on the Integrated Community Planning Committee (vice-chair) (formerly the Integrated Community Planning and Public Works Committee). He also serves on the Planning Review Committee, Smarter Niagara Steering Committee and the Greater Niagara Circle Route Committee.
He is a founding member of the Mel Swart Lake Gibson Park Committee, served for six years as the Thorold Council representative on Heritage Thorold and is the Chair of the Welland Canal Task Group.
