Regional Councillor Doug Martin began his political career as a Councillor for the Town of Fort Erie from 1982 to 1994. He is currently serving his second term as Mayor of the Town of Fort Erie and his fifth term on Regional Council.
Councillor Martin served as the Director of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority from 1993 to 1996. At present, he is the Chair of the Fort Erie Highland Festival. Doug also served as past Director of the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority, Director of the Council on World Affairs Niagara, past President of the Kinsmen Club of Fort Erie and past Director of the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce.
