Regional Councillor Cindy Forster is serving her second term on Regional Council. In 1994, while working as a Registered Nurse, she began her political career as Councillor for the City of Welland. Councillor Forster held this position until 2000 when she was elected to the position of Mayor, and in this capacity served her first term on Regional Council 2000 – 2003.
Councillor Forster is very community minded. She has served on the Boards of Aids Niagara, Hope Centre, Welland Public Library, and the Welland and District Humane Society. She has also volunteered at Welland Food Drive, Help A Child Smile, Women's Place and Habitat for Humanity.
Councillor Forster currently serves on the Public Health and Social Services Committee. She also serves on the Waste Management Planning Steering Committee and the Accessibility Advisory Committee. She also is a member on the board of Niagara Regional Housing.
