Regional Councillor Brian Baty has served in major leadership roles in the region and the province through his profession as an educator. He was a founding member of Ontario Principals' Council, and served on the provincial executive as the provincial councillor for the Niagara region. Regional Councillor Baty has worked as an educator and administrator in eight of Niagara's 12 municipalities. He retired in June, 2003 from his position as principal of E. L. Crossley Secondary School in Pelham.
He is the founding chair of Port Cares and the Port Colborne/Wainfleet Healthy Lifestyles Coalition. He was named Honourary Citizen of Port Colborne in 1995.
This is Regional Councillor Baty's third term on Regional Council.
